We are excited to share that over the past decades, researchers and practitioners around the world have steadily built a body of evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of Somatic Experiencing®. During the last four decades, the volume of scientific knowledge has expanded significantly, alongside the growing recognition of Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) as a leading psychotherapeutic practice for trauma healing and resilience-building. Scientific research has been — and continues to be — a strategic priority for Somatic Experiencing® International (SEI).

Each year, SEI awards two Peter A. Levine Research Awards to researchers whose work contributes meaningful evidence to the Somatic Experiencing® model through outstanding scientific inquiry.

The Scientific Department of our Institute conducts trauma-related research and will continue contributing to future studies dedicated to demonstrating the effectiveness of Somatic Experiencing® (SE™).
